Family & Friends, Why oh Why?

Just some food for thought:
Kylie Jenner releases a lip kit 💋👍
Jordan puts out a new shoe 👟👍
Dre has new headphones 🎧👍
Diddy has a new brand of Vodka 🍸👍
A friend or a family member starts a business 🙅👎✊❌
Why are we so quick to support someone we don’t know, who already have plenty of money 💸 ???
But have a million reasons not to support someone we know living a regular lifestyle just trying to make their dreams come true? 🌟
When you support direct sales/network marketing and a small local business you are helping someone provide for their families 👪 someone pay for their son to go football training  or their daughter to go ballet 🎀 someone get back on their feet 👣 and someone you know 👭

Yet so many people would rather contribute to a celebrity’s new vacation  home 🏡 or expensive sports car collection 🚘
We are just trying to build a future for our family…
Did you know that you don’t even have to PURCHASE from us to help? 👉even LIKING our posts or commenting helps us more than you know! 😚
For those who support us and help, thank you from the bottom of our heart!

Your First Autoresponder Message

SO, you are setting up for your first date, sorry, I mean your first autoresponder message.

Well, think of it as your first date with your browser. This is your next opportunity to convert your browser into a real follower. At this point your browser has most likely read your AboutUs or BIO page and thinks it would be in their best interest to follow you. How do we convert a browser into a follower with your first autoresponder? Let us share what we have found to work and some additional ideas we found in researching the web on this.

Select your Autoresponder Engine:

  • Your first autoresponder message will need to be set up with either an app on your website or a third party vendor. While setting up your own Autoresponder may be an option, we do not suggest this. Our main reason is, as your list grows so will the volume of emails being sent from your Autoresponder. Many of the vendors out there spend big money developing their mail delivery systems. We have two suggestions GetResponses or MailChimp. Both have awesome interfaces and metrics to manage your messages. We have utilized GetResponses for our Ambit Energy business and find their product very rich. For this site we are building our autoresponder with MailChimp as it is easier to integrate into our WordPress structure. MailChimp is also great for starting up with little working capital. You can manage an account there of 2,000 subscribers and 12,000 emails a month for FREE. With either of these vendors you know your first autoresponder message will be delivered to your browser.

Overcome First Date Jitters :)

  • Now that you have your Autoresponder set up. The next part is designing your first autoresponder email. Just like a first date, your browser may be nervous and unsure if the relationship will work out. How do we take the edge off for your browser. Send them a bottle of wine :) . Well, figuratively anyway. Your bottle of wine may be a free eBook you created to help with a pain in your particular industry. Along with this add a personal story to the email body that compliments your wine.

Share a Success Story:

  • When we browse websites of others we look for parallels of success. We make a decision to continue to follow a persons emails and posts when we can relate to them. By having a success story in their first email lets us connect right away. We even take huge stock when a partner’s success is shared. The key here is that we see the persons ability to share success with others and hopefully, us too.

Cure an Immediate Pain:

  • This may have been covered in your “Wine”, but it helps to state your cure again. Now some cures are long term and others are immediate. In today’s world where everyone looks for instant gratification a quick cure is huge. Now a way to look at this in long term models would be to look at an accomplishment that can be achieved early and also be a step towards curing a bigger pain.

Leave Bread Crumbs for next e-Mail:

  • In closing of your first autoresponder message, make sure to leave some breadcrumbs. These breadcrumbs will help your browser, now hopefully a follower, be waiting for the next email from you. Now, what breadcrumbs can we close with? We can use a peak into an upcoming conference, talk about an interview of a mentor, or simply give a schedule of discussion points.

Establishing Your First Autoresponder

Here are a few bread crumbs for you, in hope that you remain a follower of ours.

Have you set up an AutoResponder? Is it set up with your blog and social media accounts? In the Social Comments below, let us know if you have an AutoResponder setup and ready to capture browsers and convert into followers. In our next post we will review how we are setting up MailChimp with this site.

Top 5 AboutUs Tips

Top 5 AboutUs Page Tips

What is on your AboutUs Page? Did you know this is page is one of the most visited page of blogs and websites? A clear and interesting AboutUs page will influence your browsers into becoming a subscriber. With our Top 5 AboutUs Page Tips, we hope to lend you the proper direction in building you a super silent sales person.

We have researched the web for the best tips to building a silent salesperson to sell you to your new viewers. Now, so you do not feel overwhelmed we narrowed our list down to the top 5 AboutUs page tips. We found make these make the biggest difference in converting a browser into a follower.

AboutUs Page Tips #1 – The Ta-Dah Factor – Be Snappy, Be Catchy and Show Yourself!

I have seen from multiple mentors and websites shows how much a browser trusts an expert is being able to see the expert is real. Share a nice picture of yourself. We have seen many different styles for pictures. We have seen professional head-shots to pictures showing the expert having “Fun” and every where in between. We will stay with the two most common we will refer to as Head-Shots and Fun Photos. I personally like the Head-Shot as it displays a professional manner of yourself. However, as viewing many of my mentors about pages, many are choosing a Fun Photo. It really depends on the type of business you are conducting. I am thinking of using a Fun Photo in my next AboutUs page revision. Let me tell you why. In today’s social media generation we are noticing a turn from the old business model to a newer social business model. Browsers want to connect to people they can relate to. A Fun Picture will show a more personable side to yourself and a browser may relate to you better.

AboutUs Page Tips #2 – Social Proof

Take a moment and think. Have you ever been recommended to go to a specific mechanic, flower shop or even diner? While you are writing your page it is a great idea to mention a mentor or two, even linking to your mentor. As an added value, if you have a mention by your mentor, link to that mention. With WordPress plugins there are many ways to show social proof. We like to use Spider Facebook. With this app you can add a sidebar to show your FaceBook Fan Page. It also lets your browser see how many followers you have on FaceBook. All of this is to show your browser your social proof.

AboutUs Page Tips #3 – Be Real, Not a Super Hero

As you are writing your page you want to keep your experiences simple. What I mean is do not make it look like only you can succeed in your experiences. If your goal is to help them succeed with a similar process and you sell yourself like a super hero, the browser may not feel they will be able to have the same experience. In addition, open your own failures to your browser. This will help the browser relate and understand they are not the only ones that experience highs and lows in life.

AboutUs Page Tips #4 – What you can do for “Them”

When a browser is looking over your site and page, they are ultimately looking for what you may be able to offer them. Remember that while you are writing your page. Now do not go into a sales mode. However go into a problem solving mode. Focus on one of your common business hurts and express how you have already helped make the hurt go away. It is also a good idea to link to an actual client or partner to help in validation. If you share any of your failures make sure to share how you learned and grew from them. You will be surprised how many of you browsers may have experienced the same, but never overcame them.

AboutUs Page Tips #5 – Call To Action

With this page being a big part of your silent salesperson, are you maximizing your opportunities with a call to action? This is a great time to convert your browser to a subscriber. This is a great place to put your blog subscription form or e-Mail list. Remember the browser is just getting to know you so take action yourself and put together a great first e-Mail. Fear not if you do not have experience in this, I will be reviewing this topic for next week.

Top 5 AboutUs Page Tips

Here is my call to actions for you.

Direct Sales

Direct Sales in the US topped over $80 Billion in 2015.

This number comes from just the top 100 Direct Selling companies on the Direct Selling News website that was published last month. With an average payout over the years of about 38% to distributors and consultants, that equates to over $30 Billion dollars put back into the pockets of fellow Direct Sales marketers. Let me ask you, did you have an opportunity at your JOB in 2015 to have a share of anything like this?

I wanted to take a look at how other industries did last year. Jumping onto the web it is easy to find data, using the DSN and Statista sites for my findings. With the exception of Oil and Transportation, that just blew every other industries revenues away by 10-20 fold, I confirmed that the Direct Sales industry definitely leads the way. If we block the Music, Video and Movie Industry together for their 2015 sales only equal about half of our industry. The NFL last year barely equaled about 20% of our industries sales.

Direct Sales in 2015

I put the above graphic together to share with my Ambit Energy team and figured it is a great share for our master mind team.

If you find value in this Golden Nugget, please share it with with your team. Likewise, if you have any topics to share with our mastermind team, please email us so we can include your Golden Nugget with the team.

Email Marketing and Building Subscribers

Email marketing can be profitable for any business, no matter what kind of product or service you offer.

It is significantly cheaper than other advertising methods and, if done right, helps build loyalty and trust with customers. As a result, you generate more sales and more profits!

The foundation for successful email marketing is a targeted, permission-based email list. Marketers call contact lists their ‘goldmine’ because it can generate much of their sales revenue. If you’ve built up a list of opt-in subscribers that are qualified and interested in what you have to offer, then you’ve completed the first step and are on your way.
Now it’s time to ‘mine’ for gold!
Email Marketing Golden Nuggets
Below you’ll find several list-building and retention ideas that will help you get the best results from all your email marketing activities:

Top 15 Ways to Build Your Subscriber List

  1. Provide useful, relevant content. Your visitors will not give you their email addresses just because they can subscribe to your newsletter free of charge. You have to provide unique and valuable information that will be of interest or use to them.
  2. Add a subscription form to every page on your website. Make sure it stands out so it is easy to find. If it doesn’t look cluttered, you may want to include more than one on some pages. For instance, if your opt-in form always appears in the top-left corner of your site, you may want to add one at the end of your most popular articles.
  3. Add subscription forms to your social media pages. Make sure that you don’t waste this valuable source of revenue opportunities. Integrate your sign-up forms with Facebook and more!
  4. Make it easy for readers to sign up. The more information you request, the fewer people will opt-in. In most cases, a name and an email address should suffice. If it’s not necessary, don’t include it here. You can always survey them once they’re customers! We do recommend that you provide a link to your Privacy Policy however.
  5. Publish a Privacy Policy. Let your readers know that they can be confident you will not share their information with others. The easiest way to do this is to set up a Privacy Policy web page and provide the link to it below your opt-in form. (Note: If you don’t have one, put the words ‘privacy policy generator’ into a search engine and you should be able to find a suitable form to use.)
  6. Provide samples of your newsletters and Ezines. This lets potential subscribers review your materials before they sign up to determine if it’s something they’d be interested in.
  7. Archive past newsletters and articles. An online library of past newsletters and articles is both appealing and useful to visitors and builds your credibility as an authority. In addition, if your articles are written with good SEO techniques in mind, they can increase traffic to your website through enhanced search engine positioning.
  8. Give gifts subscribers can actually use. Offer an opt-in bonus for joining your subscriber list! Write an ebook or provide a PDF business report, or even hire a programmer to create downloadable or web-based software. But don’t limit yourself to offering gifts to opt-ins. Give them out when your readers fill out a survey, provide a testimonial, success story, or a great product idea. Let them know when they can expect the next gift offer. Everyone likes to get something for free! And if you pass out ‘goodies’ throughout the year, your subscribers will feel truly appreciated − and that’s good for business!
  9. Ask your subscribers to pass it on. Word of mouth is a powerful viral technique that works great with email marketing. If your subscribers find your content interesting, amusing or informative, they’ll probably share it with their friends. This can be a great source of new customers, so make sure to remind them to ‘pass it on’.
  10. Let others reprint your newsletter as long as the content is not modified. If you’re happy to share your content with the universe, then why not! Many webmasters and newsletter publishers are actively looking for high-quality content and, if they reprint your newsletter, you’ll get new subscribers, and more traffic and links pointing to your site.
  11. Include a ‘Sign Up’ button in your newsletter. If you’re using plain text instead of HTML, be sure to provide a text link to your subscription page. You may feel that this is not required because the subscriber is already on your list, but remember that readers will forward your newsletters to others, or reprint them online. Make it easy for them to subscribe!
  12. Add a squeeze page. A squeeze page has one goal − to acquire opt-ins and build your list. Think of it as a mini-sales letter to go along with your subscription or opt-in gift. It should feature a strong headline and a couple of powerful benefits that should make subscribers salivate to sign up! Once created, use a service such as WordTracker to find hundreds of targeted keywords, and promote your offer using pay-per-click advertising from Google, MSN and Yahoo. Now that should make a splash!
  13. Include testimonials on your squeeze page. This is crucial. Put one or two strong testimonials from satisfied customers on your squeeze page. This can be in any format, but you may find that multimedia (audio or video) is more ‘believable’ and inspires more people to action. To further enhance believability, get permission to use actual customer names, locations and/or urls (Don’t use ‘Bob K, FL’). Add a note inviting others to participate. After all, it’s free publicity!
  14. Blog religiously. Blogging is a great way to communicate with prospects and potential customers, and creates a nice synergy with your email marketing. Be sure to include your newsletter sign-up form on each page of your blog. You can start a free blog at Blogger or WordPress.
  15. Post on other blogs. Post thoughtful comments and information on similar blogs with a link to your squeeze or opt-in pages. Also comment on others’ blogs through trackbacks. In most cases, your comments will be posted on their blogs with a link back to your site. This is an easy way to generate new traffic and subscribers, and get your brand out there!

Book Review – Ice Breakers! How To Get Any Prospect To Beg You For A Presentation

Ice Breakers! How To Get Any Prospect To Beg You For A PresentationIce Breakers! How To Get Any Prospect To Beg You For A Presentation

by Tom “Big Al” Schreiter

If you are like we were at the start of our business building, you probably have no true idea on how to start a conversation. I wish I had this book years ago. Tom Schreiter kept his writing directly to the point. Tom gives many examples on how to “Break the Ice” for any business.

Without giving away many of his tricks, I would like to share one of my favorites from his book. I found a great way to break the ice with the hotel clerk during my travels for my day job. I can’t wait to try it out. The wording states that I just found out how to reverse a negative instance of their current job, like working overnights. Then let them know I am here to help, then immediately ask them to do something related to my stay. Tom explains how the “I just found out” statement triggers curiosity in the person. And the last part of the statement give the person the opportunity to gracefully move on without any pressure.

Tom goes into other scripts that will work in any business from Diet to Financial.  Click the link below to purchase from our Amazon link. Tom’s book “Ice Breakers! How To Get Any Prospect To Beg You For A Presentation will make a great addition to any Network Marketing Professionals library.

Sylvania ZEVO LED – Review

Review of Sylvania ZEVO LED Bulb

Product Details

This review is driven from an issue I experienced during the replacement of the license plate light bulbs on our 2011 Kia Sorento. In getting ready for the inspection of the Kia, it was noticed that one of the license plate lights were out. We had already replaced the internal dome lights with LEDs and figured this would be the best time to upgrade these lights as well. After doing some searches and reading reviews I chose the Sylvania Zevo Led replacement bulb. Like other LED replacement costs, they are almost 3 times the amount of standard bulbs.

Well, we ordered them and received them last week. I waited till the weekend to install. It was easy on the KIA to replace the bulb. I drove around and showed a few of our friends how clear and white the light was. Then this morning, while dropping off my daughter at the bus stop, one of my friends approached me to poke fun as one of the bulbs were out. A bit annoyed, I returned home, in the rain steaming over this new bulb blowing and our inspection scheduled for this Friday. As soon as my laptop booted up, I emailed Sylvania. Before lunch I received a reply. They were very supportive of my issue and directed me to check out if the bulb was blown or just unseated. The rain ended, I went out to check it before lunch. It winds up that the bulb was blown. I then replied to their email to let them know my finding of the blown bulb. Within an hour I received an email back with tracking information for a replacement bulb. It is currently on the way and should be received on Thursday.

I have to tell you. I was not expecting the level of customer service I received. I am very happy with how Sylvania is coming through for me in this situation.

In closing, if you are ever in the market for LED replacement bulbs, check out Sylvania Zevo bulbs. Click on the picture above and you will be sent to my affiliate link to review.

Have a Great Day,

Paul Truman

Increase Your FaceBook FanPage Popularity

 Hosting FaceBook FanPage Events

It has been almost a year now that we have been hosting FaceBook FanPage event on our FaceBook Page The Great Big Book of Everything – Paul Truman Jr. We run a #FanPageFriday event every Friday and #FanOfTheWeek event every Saturday. Between these two events we have built a solid following.

#FanPageFriday – How we run the event.

1 – Picture – Because our core business is energy, we picked a simple light bulb graphic that has become our FanPage Icon. We tried to keep the amount of colors in the icon to a few core colors. This lets us change up the look simply by doing a color swap in PSP. We tried different type fonts and sizes and found our current icon meets FaceBook AD specifications with the correct percentage of verbage.

FaceBook FanPage Events #FanPageFriday

2- Time of Post – We found that a post as close to midnight on Friday morning have the best responses. Now, I need my beauty sleep, so midnight normally never sees me. Thankfully, there is a way to schedule posts on FaceBook. I am all about automation, so I normally have an entire month of FanPageFriday events scheduled at the start of the month.

3- Event Copy –  Well, we have gotten our hands slapped by FaceBook a few times with our #FanPageFriday event wording. With some tweaking below is the copy that we publish with our icon.

Welcome to this week’s #FanPageFriday event at The Great Big Book of Everything – Paul Truman Jr.  Can We Get a “Show Us The Likes”? The rules are simple;

1. “Like” my page and leave us a comment so we can return the ‘Like”.
2. Share your #FaceBookFanPage url/link in the comments below the picture.
3. Like the pages of other #FacebookFanPage of the ones you like. (You don’t have to like them all.)

Don’t Forget to share this post on your page and invite others to the party! When we help out we all win!

Remember the more shares and interaction you participate on the page, the better the chance of being selected as the #FanOfTheWeek for a spotlight post.

#fanpagenetworking #socialmedianetworking #getmorefans #networking #ShopSmall #DirectSales

4- Fan Interaction – You may have noticed my use of #HashTags throughout this post. These help the event gain visibility, organically in FaceBook. To help visibility I begin sharing the post. First on my personal page, then in FaceBook groups of like minded fans. Don’t forget to like the post yourself. This will help in adding visibility for this FaceBook FanPage Event. Normally, our event will have multiple interactions before lunch time. This is when I start individual interactions with the participating fans. With a simple Thanks and a like to their post on the event and their page, the relationship begins to build. At this time I would also add a comment to the event post that reminds my fans about the #FanOfTheWeek event that concludes Saturday morning for the week prior.

#FanOfTheWeek – How we run the event.

1 – FanPage Event Application – This FaceBook FanPage event is simple as it is just an application that you would install on your FanPage. You can look at our #FanOfTheWeek Tab to obtain the link to install on your own FaceBook FanPage. The application is free for trial and then monthly subscription. I am just running it in trial mode which selects the fan for us each week and does a little Spotlight Post for the selection.

2 – Interaction – In our FaceBook FanPage Friday event we mention interaction in posts of our page will raise their opportunity to be chosen as the #FanOfTheWeek. Once the APP chooses the Fan, we reach out to them with a TAG on the post to congratulate them on being chosen as #FanOfTheWeek. This helps get the post seen by the friends of the fan. Next we reach out to the Fan to give them an opportunity to send us a BIO of themselves and any business they may be a part of. We would then write a post on our blog including the BIO they submitted.

Other FaceBook Fan Page event that we have held include #Ladders and #TwitterTuesdays. However, we have not invested as much time on these. We do have plans to build these events into our FaceBook FanPage Weekly Events and will do a future post to share our process.
